She's Evil by Rachel Summers

"She's evil!"

I turned to see Molly's face. Across it was one of those rare scowls. Molly only scowled under three conditions.

If she saw me flirting.

If I called Joey a loser.

Or, if Rachel Thomas happened to be within a 15 ft radius of us, out table, any of our belongings, or Joey Amasawa.

I let out an exasperated sigh.

"Let it go will you?" I asked her. "Besides, I don't even see what you have against her. She looks cute to me." I shrugged. Molly's hands gripped the side of the table.

"What? Cute? Rachel Thomas is incarnation of evil! Say it with me, E-V-"

"Molly. Cool it. I'm just not seeing this evil thing that you say you see. I just don't." I shrugged again and Molly scrunched up her face. "Hey," I said. "You make yourself look ugly when you make faces." I said in a sing-song voice. Molly sighed.

"Not today, Logan." She muttered, looking away. I looked back towards Rachel. She was of a darker complexion than I, although her hair color was that of a lighter one. She was talking to one of her friends, one with big glasses, until she slowly looked in my direction.

I wasn't a type of guy to look away when someone meets my gaze. So when she stared I stared back. Her look intensified, and I at first felt a little intimidated. I shook the feeling away and stared on. She looked at me harder until finally. Molly tapped me on the shoulder. I broke the spell and turned towards Molly.

"What?" I asked bluntly. Molly looked annoyed.

"I dunno, maybe the fact that you were, hmm, what was it? Oh yeah, IGNORING ME, to STARE, at RACHEL." Molly huffed, and her knuckles gripped the edge of the table harder. I sighed.

"Molly, don't get so angry."

"I'm NOT angry!" She glared at me, but it was rather pathetic because she hadn't had much practice. I waved a finger in her face as to put some gas on the flame.

"Now now, don't deny. You just wanna strangle me right now, doncha?" I asked, grinning. Molly tried to look angrier, but instead gave up and gave a small smile back.

"Yes I do." She said weakly. I placed a hand on her shoulder.

"Resist the urge, m'kay?" I asked her as I looked up and saw Rachel and one of her friends standing behind Molly. "Can I help you?" I asked. Molly looked confused, but then spun to see Rachel. Her knuckles whitened as they gripped the table even harder.

"What do you want?" Molly asked coldly. Rachel looked confused.

"No 'hi'?" She asked in a mock hurt voice. Molly tried to glare at Rachel again, but her eye contact was shaky and it was patheticer than the one she tried to give me.

"What do you want?" Molly asked again, her jaw tightening. Rachel sighed.

"I just wanted to know why your friend here was staring at me." She replied.

"I'm sure you were staring at him, not the other way around." Molly scoffed. "Now, anything else? No? Then be on your way." She glared harder.

"I hate it when people stare at me. I feel like a zoo animal. Sooo, why were you staring at me? What's your name?" She asked me, ignoring Molly. I let out a slight cough.

"Looogan." I replied, stretching the 'o'. She looked neutral.

"Well Looogan, keep your eyes where they belong. Not staring at me. Stare at Molly or something. Later." Rachel turned on her heels and was about to go when her friend spoke up.

"Hey," She began, "Aren't you the guy that was fighting with Rochelle?" I blinked.

"No, you have it all wrong. Rochelle was fighting me, not the other way around. That chick has problems." I replied in a peeved voice, remembering when she has stuck her hand down my throat like a first grader. Not even first graders did that. Well maybe I shouldn't have stolen the gum from her and began chewing on it but she had no right to get it back manually.

Rachel turned, with a look of interest on her face.

"Yeah, that's you isn't it? Logan? Wow, it takes some guts to fight Rochelle." Rachel grinned. "She said you even tried to light her hair on fire once."

Molly looked shocked and horrified. I hadn't told her that - I hadn't told anyone that, only Ms. Sanchez(she caught us) and my parents knew about that. I just didn't think it was relevant. "Oh, how's the weather? By the way, I almost lit Rochelle Zimmerman's hair on fire yesterday, it was AWESOME..."

I tried to shrug it off lightly, but I could tell that she was impressed.

"You know, it's just one of those things that happens. I had a lighter, and she was strangling me in a headlock, sooo...."

"That's pretty awesome. You must have spunk." I looked up to see Rachel grinning wider.

"Spunk?" I asked. She nodded.

"No one has dared to mess with Rochelle Zimmerman before. She's next to Braxton in the "untouchables" field. You know?" Rachel asked with widened eyes. I nodded, staring at her intently, waiting for her to say more. Her eyes were not quite brown, but not quite green...more of a hazel. She broke the gaze and added, "Hey, maybe you can hang out with us sometime, you know, you're cool enough." Rachel shrugged.

I didn't want to see the look on Molly's face. I scoffed.

"No way, I'm not joining your fanboy league." I stuck my nose in the air. She frowned.
